Hopping from Santa Cruz

So we had a great turnout in Santa Cruz last night. The theater told us that it was the longest line for merchandise they'd ever seen. Also, Lorrie said all the customers were super nice, offering to bring water, change, etc...just all around good folk. So thanks for being patient and lovely people!

I was there watching rehearsals earlier, and I think you will all enjoy the show quite a bit. I wish I could've seen it with an audience, as I'm sure it was tons better with an enthused crowd.

Just before doors opened I walked my kids up and down the line to look at the funny costumes etc. They knew mom and dad had shirts with eyeballs, but had no idea that there were a bunch of other people who also had these shirts and wore them out in public. They got to see a bit of the show (in rehearsals), and my 3 year old has expressed in interest in going on stage in a bunny outfit (but only to sing Hank Hooper songs.)

Anyhow, so far it looks as if Postcards will be in DC in time for the beginning of the east coast tour. Whew! Enjoy the shows, and bring 5 friends with you...and encourage them to buy something!

PS - mystery boxes have been created for each night. Each night's box is different. Each box consists of 6-9 different items (not for sale as one item, but meant to be browsed thru). They are largely made up of things that we had in small supply, just sitting around the office, that we couldn't put on the site, as there weren't enough of them. Or they are experiments. Or we had a lot of them, and we're trying to be sure everyone knows about them. The Santa Cruz mystery box was sold out before the show started.

"Or they are experiments."

If the Rubik's Cube prototype sells for a quarter million, I want a cut.

haha - that's still in the office on my desk - wish we could've done it, but couldn't solve the labor costs

Well, if you sell the prototype for $250k, that's most of the labour cost right there.

Hi, will arrive the Postcard from Patmos at the concerts from NYC? The connection of the list of post office of the page of Ralph America does not work. Thanks.

I fixed that link on the first ralph page - you can sign up for the ralph list now -
PfP should be at all shows on the tour, barring some great heist or something

Hey Dren,
I met your wife at the merch booth. I was probably the first to ask about the Patmos CD's availability post-Santa Cruz and realized that was just pestering her, so I brought back some waters in a random act of being polite.

I hope the merch flies out the doors on this tour, I really like the tour shirt I picked up.
Thanks, Mike

you weren't pestering - she was just stressed by the overwhelming demand of merchandise. we thought it would be a little less of a rush. but glad to see it - anyhow, the water was well appreciated! thanks

You NEED to find out what it would cost to manufacture the Bunny Boy blanket used in the show. I WANTS one!

Dear whoever reads this -

THERE ARE NO ACTUAL BOXES AT THE SHOW FOR YOU TO FLIP THROUGH.

Each night has a small selection of stuff which will be right out on the table where the merch is. Those items are the "mystery box" items. I have seen some rather choice items get sold, so it's recommended to check it out, of course - But please, there's no actual "box" sitting out for you to look for, ok? (To the best of my understanding, those items are in a sealed box, one box is assigned for each night and is opened by the good Rz merch staff and placed out on the table for sale. RA did this so that there'd be some extra-special swag at EACH NIGHT so it's not like all the rare stuff sells out in the first couple nights.) But please understand, EVERYTHING they sell will eventually sell out, some things rather soon, so get your tail to the table and get it while you can! I'm particularly taken by the dog tags, great idea!

BUY OR DIE!

...if folks are curious, the mystery box items in Boston were, to the best of my recollection:

- Vinyl LPs of "King and I RMX," "Not Available," "RB RMX," and maybe one other title I can't recall.
- A copy of the super-rare "The Sandman Waits" CD EP (originally sent out with "Voice of Midnight" pre-orders)
- A copy of the 2CD "Night of the Hunter" set
- A copy the Wormwood Live DVD
- Two copies of the ESD edition of the "Eskimo" CD

As the person above said, it's not a "box" per se, and the items are sold separately (not as a set). I was really happy to see that the items are relatively rare musical items, not just memorabilia. Also, the stuff was priced very reasonably: the CDs and DVDs were $15-25, the LPs were $25. The only expensive item was the "Sandman Waits" EP, which was $100. Of course, on 500 were ever pressed.

Th merch folks are incredibly nice and knowledgeable! It would be great if other folks could post the mystery box contents from other shows, just so we'd know!

Guy in front of me in New York bought the Sandman Waits. I couldn't believe he laid out that kind of money!

Other items were a Chub shirt, Kettles sets, Commercial Album Mute release and an Eskimo DVD.

^ People have paid a lot more for it! RA had it cheaper than many, and this way, those collector's dollars can go to the Rz and RA.

BUY (from Ralph America) OR DIE!

There were some VERY cool prototype items in the Mystery Box too - Eskimo shirt, tasty! Too small for this lummox, though...
