Tour Merchandise update

TOUR MERCHANDISE UPDATE:

As many of you are aware, The Residents are soon embarking on The Bunny Boy Tour and your friendly Ralph representative will be on hand at all shows with lovely Residents items, for sale in the lobby (or in some cases, right there in the theater...NYC that's just weird). Anyhow, here's a list of what we will have (or plan to have, at least).

IN the USA: 3 different shirt designs, and one embroidered zip hoodie. We will have the Bunny Boy CD (MVD/SDR, the same one we sell online), Postcards from Patmos (instrumental music from The Bunny Boy internet series on 1 CD, packaged in a double digipak, with pocket, so you can house your BB cd and booklet all in this lovely package - not available in Santa Cruz as the covers won't be finished by then). A metal 'dog tag' with Residents art printed on one side, and a URL/download code for the intermission music that is played druing the shows. The Bunny Boy NOSE! Yes, you too can have a Bunny Boy plastic nose and whiskers for Halloween this year. The very same model worn in the internet series! There's talk of a mystery box...we'll see if it happens. Concept being that if we have time, we'll rummage thru the Ralph vaults, and create a small box of collectible stuff (a different one for each night of the US tour) that folks can browse thru to patch up their collection if they have any missing pieces, etc.

In Europe: 2 shirts and one embroidered zip hoodie. Mute's version of The Bunny Boy CD, Postcards from Patmos, the dog tag (see above), maybe the plastic nose (might be a difficult customs operation), and an embroidered skull cap. Possibly some other items, but nothing has been confirmed. No mystery boxes in europe though.

ABOUT POSTCARDS FROM PATMOS: Many of you are writing to see if you can get a copy online. The answer is MAYBE. PERHAPS. We are making 2000 copies, 1000 for sale on the US tour, and 1000 for sale in Europe. Whatever is leftover will be sold online. We anticipate that there will be some leftover. Considering that the US tour is much shorter and in smaller venues than europe, we think that there will be some left over.

This sounds great! Will you be accepting credit cards?

Can't wait...

YUP - we'll have a credit card machine - as long as there is cell phone reception we'll be able to charge your card

In the theatre for NYC... will it be like selling hot dogs at a ballgame? I can see you tossing t-shirts down the rows while money gets passed to the aisle.

Can't wait to see you. It's been like a million years.

Three shirts in the US, two in Yurp - Are they different over yonder?

Thx for the attention to swag! Good to see that the Residents are once again hitting the road as travelling t-shirt salesmen, and have added dog tags to the mix.

It will be like selling at a ballgame - we should bring some bags of peanuts. the venue actually made it sound like the merch stand would be right next to the stage(!?WTF?!) They blamed it on Live Nation, cuz there actually IS a lobby, but they don't want anyone to sell in there? someone explain how that makes sense. weird things happen in NYC, every single tour.

i actually won't be there. the wife is taking the reigns on this trip. I get to stay here, run the business and watch 2 kids by myself. woohoo.

Well, I regret that I won't be able to travel to see any of this tour (once again). If the Residents would ever come to Vancouver, then maybe I could swing a flight from Calgary.

I do hope you have the Patmos cd leftover after the tour. And while you're digging around in the vault, how about selling me one of the WB:RMX lp's with the bonus 12". Hey, hey. Well I tried.

Aw, no Dren for me. Next time.

I think I met your wife briefly; let her know that I can lend an extra hoof if she needs it in NYC.

So what exactly will be sold at the Santa Cruz show? Now we know that Postcards from Patmos won't be there but will the rest of it?

RalphAmerica said...

no dog tags in SC either - but everything else should be there - plus i put together a nice mystery box selection for that night, to make up for it -

goats, i'll let her know, thanks!

Awesome! I'll be sure to spend a ton of money on Friday!

Is it possible the people in Santa Cruz can get a copy of "Postcards..." in some other way? Like maybe we can send a photocopy of our tickets to the RA email as proof we were there and we can do an online transaction for the cd and you can ship it to us at your leisure? C'mon, somethin'. And you can mark down the seat numbers on some sheet to be sure no more than one transaction is taking place per seat number.

Will you have the credit card machine in Europe, too? If not, could you possibly tell us the tour merch prices in advance?

I agree if at all possible, it would be great if we can provide proof of our existence at the SC show to get a chance at buying the patmos cd. I would hate it if I saw the bunny boy show, bought the CD, and then didnt get the full set because some random guy online. I am happy to hear there is a good mystery bag to make up for it though. Ralph has never disappointed.

Is this extremely bizarre video an official Residents project? Is it for an upcoming DVD?

As to what brainphreak said... I's suggest at least giving priority to those who were at the SC show if you do end up selling extra copies through RA, if it would be possible to coordinate.

...or what about if you took orders in Santa Cruz from those who wanted to buy the "Postcards..." cd. You could have order forms where you could write our names and addresses and we could pay for our copy right then and there. Once the shipment comes in you have a handful of order forms for payed cd's and you just ship 'em out to the addresses on the forms. Make it so that you must pay for it at that moment at the show, plus the shipping cost of course. That way we all get what we want and it costs you nothing. How bout it? eh? eh?

That's an amazing idea!

hi folks
we won't be organized enough to be able to do any sort of preorder thing in SC - we're barely scraping it together to get down there in the first place. I'm flying all over town today to be sure we have all of our vendors finishing the work (stuff i ordered over a month or two ago is only, MAYBE, getting done today).

Just make sure you're on the ralph email list (sign up on the first page of ralphamerica.com) and you'll be sure to know when we'll have Postcards From Patmos online. I'm sure there will be enough to go around -

I'm also in the midst of making sure that Postcards shows up in DC...it may not. So SC may not be the only ones missing out.

I have no idea about Europe and the CC machine, probably not. I still have to discuss with the tour manager, but most likely shirt prices will be in the 20-25 euro range (depending on venue percentage), hoodies probably 45-50 euro, and discs around 15 euro. So bring cash in europe, just in case. dog tags probably around 10 euro, hats around 10-12 euro. just estimates, so don't show up saying that this is a guaranteed price!

hope that helps - and I wish everything came together as quickly as we'd hoped, but it never does when yer dealing with so many vendors. This time, most of them didn't finish on time...sometimes they do better than that.

I am bringing a few toys down to SC, in case anyone wants one of those

GOD BLESS RALPH AMERICA. Seriously.

I went to the fabulous Chicago 15 show. One question; I purchased the dogtags thinking it had the intermmision music, but discovered the download was a 15 minute "Tribute to past tours?" MP3 Is this correct? I think I heard the Postcards music during intermission. By the way, the Postcards CD is awesome! Take care.

Paulie said...

^ Postcards From Patmos was played before and after the show, and the "Tribute To Past Tours" piece (aka dogtags) was played during the intermission.

Luckily, Postcards From Patmos is still available NOW at www.RalphAmerica.com for all you folks who missed out so far, buy or die!
